Help with the College of probability and statistics?
I hope someone can help. According to the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association (APPMA) 2003-2004 National Survey of pet owners, 39% of U.S. households have at least one dog and 34% of U.S. households have at least one cat. Suppose that 60% of U.S. households own a cat or a dog. A. What is the probability that some U.S. households Random does not have a cat or a dog? B. What is the probability that a random American household has both a cat and a dog? If you know how to do well, you see the steps on how you got your answer. Thanks advance.
Ok … what I do, because I'm an outline. P = 0.39 (D) = 0.34 P (C) 0.6 = P (CUD) You know that P (CIC) = P (D) + P (C)-P (CND) So or order P = 0.13 for (NDA) so that the diagram should look like this: a box of 0.4 in the interior that there are no dogs and cats. 2 circles during the Christmas Appeal P (CND) = 0.13 A circle is P (C) The space has not been rolled over P (C, not D) = 0.26 and the other P (D) space is not on a tour of P ( D no cat) 0.21 So now it should be easy A) 0.4 box next to the circles, but in the square b) 0.13 bathed the area hope that helps … I think I did well = D
